p.s. when you were there, did they try to get your shoelaces or something like here http://travelingrockhopper.com/falklands_02/ ?

I totally agree it’s not difficult to fall for them 🙂 But no, they didn’t try to take my shoelaces! Haha! (Maybe he thought it was a worm he could play with?) But they were very friendly, curious and unafraid, probably too much so for their own safety. They came close and just stood there calmly inspecting us 🙂

There is an expectation, a positive intent in those raised wings. I like it

I think so too. This could be interpreted as a slightly sad photo or a happy one, but because of the wings, I like to think it was a happy moment 🙂

Thanks! My only regret is that the penguin is so tiny, with a better lens I could have zoomed in a bit. But yes, he was a cutie 🙂

I personally love the photo the way it is. Of course, it’s my biased opinion 🙂 🙂

Oh, I just love this. Even though they live in large groups, penguins seem like lonely creatures to me.

Thanks! 🙂 Penguins are so great for photos, whatever you do, the photos always look cute 🙂 These guys at Isla Martillo seemed pretty content, swimming and hanging around.

Awww, this is absolutely wonderful. The fact that the penguin is so tiny is what makes it work -gives it that feeling of isolation and aloneness. It is perfection as is.
