It’s Friendly Friday again
Have you noticed how some people always urge you to come out of your comfort zone? It’s supposed to be good for you.
But sometimes all I want to do is just stay where I’m comfortable, do what I like doing. I don’t always want to leave my comfort zone!
So today’s prompt is short and sweet – yes, you guessed it: Comfort Zone.
Interpret it any way you like!
I’ve chosen to interpret it through a couple of old photos that represent my photography style: unplanned snapshots of something I saw and liked.
Usually plants and buildings are what I end up spontaneously aiming my camera at! (And my kids, of course.)
Hope you have fun with this prompt!
How to participate:
- Leave your response in the comments section of this post
- Remember to also include a link to the prompt in your post!
- You are welcome to add our logo – this is optional
- There’s no deadline for participating
- Finally, remember to check out the other participants’ posts to see how they’ve interpreted the same theme!
The challenge is hosted by The Snow Melts Somewhere and Something to Ponder About (next week).
…And before you go and get comfy, I’d like to thank all of you for your wonderful responses to our Friendly Friday challenges! I hope you’ve enjoyed the prompts and received some visits from other bloggers.
Here are a few very clever responses to each of our prompts so far:
Manja’s cheeky source of inspiration
I was refreshing your page for a while to see what theme you come up with. It’s original, great! And so lovely to see that you liked my not-so-Friendly Friday mascot for your first challenge. 😀 I love your photos and the way you do it: see-like it-click. Much the same here. If not today, I’ll do it tomorrow, but I will.

This first picture of yours is perfect. I never quite manage to picture light. But you do it so well.
Here is my interpretation of your theme:

I like the light in your pictures a lot. So bright and warm. And daring! I am a bit afraid doing so myself, for some reason scared to blow out the highlights. But that doesn’t matter at all when the picture is right, as yours are.

Thanks Peter, your words warm my heart since your photography is so professional and perfect! 😊 I don’t know about daring, you see that’s the good thing about being a complete amateur, I don’t have to worry about doing things ”wrong”. I just let my eyes work and shut off my brain. Still, the down side to that is this I’m very lazy about learning camera techniques and developing any technical skills…

What an interesting theme Snow. I’m not sure what to do with this.
Good photos though, interesting. Is the middle one Yew?

It’s spruce, I guess – very common over here in the land of forests. Lookinh forward to seeing what you come up with! Maybe something you enjoy doing regularly? Or a past travel moment where you felt at home?

No, I want to do it, Just The boys are at home today, normally they go to their Mum’s so I haven’t really had any time. I’ll have a go later!

Yep, you can join anytime! 🙂 Maybe you can ask your boys what they think their dad’s comfort zone is? That would be interesting 😉

I like your photos. Sometimes just snapping can capture great moments with the light. My offering, as you already know, is https://grahamsisland.com/2019/02/09/manta-ray-magic/. I want to check out some of the other offerings, but our power has just come back after being out for 8 hours, so I’m rushing to catch up with a few things before it goes again!

I have mixed feelings about how I feel about the term “Comfort Zone” that’s thrown around so often, especially when it comes to traveling. I love being comfortable in whatever ways I can (who doesn’t?). If I truly went outside of my comfort zone, I would be unhappy and grumpy the whole time. Of course the definition of ‘comfort’ for me changes when I travel outside of home..
Lovely, fresh photos of the plants, Snow! 🙂

Same here – I wonder if there’s any real evidence that coming out of your comfort zone actually is good for you, like pushy people love to say! 😆 Why stress yourself unnecessarily? Life isn’t about perfoming, it’s about enjoying yourself 😋
