I’m a fortyish woman with tropical childhood memories. I used to work in the travel industry and I’ve lived in several countries.
I now live in Northern Europe where I find myself freezing during the long winters, always dreaming of somewhere sunnier… where the snow has already melted away.
This blog started out as a travel photo blog, but it has evolved into more of a generic story blog. I love to write. This is where you’ll find my stories – past, present and future.
I’m also Mom to two 3-year-olds.
I appreciate all of your comments, likes and visits – thank you! Hope to see you here again!

All the photos in this blog are mine and were taken by me. (Except the one on this page! Credit: Hubby.)

You know people often use the word breathtaking in many scenarios. Landing on your blog, seeing the photos and reading through the places you have been to, literally I had to take a deep breath to take it all in 🙂 And I mean it in the most wonderful sense of all ❤ Before I plunge into your stories,(I have already followed, no doubts on that!) I just wanted to take a minute and let you know how awesome you and your blog is and the travels you have taken is simply amazing. My man and I, we love exploring new places and being on the road too, but truth is life does not allow us as often we would like to indulge ourselves in wanderlust 🙂 Still we do our best and I warmly welcome you to pop over by my little corner of the blogosphere as well 🙂 Cheers and warmest wishes, Minaxi ❤

How exciting! And what a coincidence, that you live in Finland, like I do, and have lived in Australia, too, which I also have! Life is so fascinating like that. I am way overdue for bed but I got stuck poking around your blog and then I was compelled to leave another comment. So, lovely to meet you, too, fellow adventurer and explorer. 🙂

I was saving poking around your blog for today, as I was too tired last night 😊 So I still haven’t read your story yet! So fun that we have such a similar background! Where did you live and when? Hope you weren’t as traumatized about moving to Finland as I was, hahahah 😉 (I’m really not a winter person!)
LikeLiked by 1 person
Not traumatised at all, but it might have something to do with that I went to Australia when I was eighteen, then lived there for about four years. So I had already grown up with thick covers of snow and 25 below zero. 😉 On the other hand, the heat combined with the humidity in Queensland had me slightly traumatised. Basically I started sweating the moment I came back out of the shower. Haha But what an experience it was. Gorgeous nature and lovely people. I lived mostly in Beenleigh, down from Brisbane on the way toward the Gold Coast. I also spent some time in NSW, a couple of hours from Sydney (if I remember correctly. Maybe it was three!)

That explains it! 🙂 Did you go there for your studies? Sounds great! I spent a few years in France as a student and right after… I love all sunny places but Australia has a special place in my heart! ❤
LikeLiked by 1 person
Not initially, a boy brought me there ;-), but I did do a little studying my last year there. I have been to France once, to Paris. I went with a language exchange course programme, and on our way through to the UK the bus went through Paris. What did you study in France?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Because I wanted to 😊 I was planning on staying there permanently and had a sort of permanent life there, too. But then I decided on a whim to come to Finland as they were interviewing people for cabin crew work… And I was getting tired of French bureaucracy, mouldy apartments and everyday things being quite difficult there. I have a love/hate relationship with France! 😉
LikeLiked by 1 person
Haha, some places are like that. And ough, mouldy apartments–I have had one of those. I scrubbed like a maniac, but some smells just never go away. What a great experience though. Living in France, I mean; not the mouldiness. 😉 And living in different countries is great for language learning. Do you speak it fluently now?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I used to speak French but now it’s all forgotten, too bad!! 😊

Oh, you asked what I studied! 😊 Oops. I have a master’s in business (marketing), mostly from Finland though
