…Well, secrets as the theme for Friendly Friday sounds a bit dramatic, what I really had in mind was that I would like you to reveal something about yourself.
Something personal or something that you haven’t told us yet.
My reveal is that I used to have this photo hanging on my living room wall. I like it because it has all of my favorite colors: turquoise, blue, and olive green.
And whenever I look at it, I’m reminded of the exact moment when I took the photo. This was way back in 2006 when I was living in Nice, France. It was a summer day, I had just climbed up a steep hill, and this is what I saw. Perfection.
What does that say about me? Well, it’s up to you to read between the lines. I’m offering you something very personal, a glimpse into my soul.
So… what’s your secret? Reveal it to us here at Friendly Friday this week!
Here’s how to take part in our photo challenge:
- Create a post responding to the theme
- Link that post to this one
- Add a comment at the end of this post, introducing your take on the theme – this makes it more tempting for others to click on your link!
- Check out some of the other entries
- There is no deadline
Welcome along!
Ooh. What a fun theme!!

I love this theme!! And your photo. ❤ So much longing in it.
I used to tell little things about myself all the time on my blog. (And I know you know since you've been here for me throughout.) But several years of blogging will cure you of that. Still, I can't wait to see what I come up with. (I never know until I post. :D)

Ah, that turquoise water, and the little sailboat in the distance, which is what my offering is about: https://grahamsisland.com/2019/10/18/sailboat-off-the-coast/. The closer water in your photo looks like clouds, which puts a nice twist on the photo.

That’s as should be. Even if kids can be hard to handle sometimes, so much energy, when all you want to do is sleep, they bring a fresh outlook to our lives. And the responsibility to care for them. And I’m sure they’re very cute. “Blonde with blue eyes” like my little sister?

You guessed it! Blonde with blue eyes. Though my eyes are green

Mine too are green, like my mother’s. We must be related. 😉 My father, sister, and brothers all had/have blue eyes. So genetically, you and I are probably Green/Blue. Blue is recessive so Green shows. 🙂

Green/blue… Turquoise eyes!!! I like that!! 😁
LikeLiked by 1 person
Haha. Turquoise I wish. But no, cat green. (I have been a cat in a previous life I’m sure). Blue/green refers to the combination of genes you receive from your your parents. My father was Blue/blue because Blue mixed with any other doesn’t show. It’s recessive. My mother was necessarily Green/blue where the green shows, because she had Blue-eyed children. Her invisible Blue gene combined with any of my father’s Blue genes. You probably have a father or grandfather with blue eyes who passed on the gene to you. And it combined with your husband’s. Who may or may not have visible blue eyes, but has to have the hidden gene. 🙂
I did ramble on, didn’t I? I loved genetics at school.

I loved genetics at school too and I loved your recap because I had forgotten how it went. (No eidetic memory here!) And yes, my dad had blue eyes as does Hubby. 😊 Well done!
