What fun fishes and abstract-ish sea life on that fence, or wooden bench? I love your eyes for catching light and unusual whimsical detail 🙂

Thanks Pierr! 🙂 Those two painted benches were in front of a cultural center for children (we went to a free “toddler movie morning” there but my boys fell asleep as soon as we got there!)

Yeahhh! Just wonderful. I love it how your eye catches things with love and admiration. Mine does it similarly and I’d be noticing many of the same things (doors for sure!), but certainly not all. I love it how you frame your views. That red photo is glorious! Maybe one day we will do it together. 🙂 My post coming up a bit later.

We will do a photo walk together for sure one day! In Italy and also in Slovenia 🙂 Photo walks make me appreciate Helsinki more: the architecture really is interesting. It’s so mixed with this and that but they all tell a story. Looking forward to yours, Manja! 🙂

Thanks Terri! My toddlers like to watch a Finnish children’s program where they sing “You can find adventure anywhere” and I think the same applies to photography: you can find an interesting shot or detail just about anywhere 🙂

Here is my walk with my sister, the last lengthy photo walk I took. Including, my first villanelle poem and what fun it was to do it. How do you sing Down under, I wonder. 😀

My eye is caught by the sunny brightness of the pictures, and by the interesting architecture, Art Nouveau elements in windows, doors and entrances. I have the hunch I have strolled through this neighbourhood as well and with lots of pleasure. There is so much to see! I like this pictures very much.

Thanks very much, Peter! The sun makes everything prettier. The art nouveau elements – I love those details, they make the mundane look movie-like. You just have to look.

Thanks Maria! 😊 The sun came out and suddenly I started noticing these things again

OMG, so much beauty! I love Helsinki through your eye. I’d come and see it as a gloomy grey place, maybe, but now I have an illusion of this spring sun and colors… and I find it so lovely :))

Thanks Marina! An illusion of spring, well put! Winter is still very long and the rest of the seasons try to squeeze in. As you know from Oslo, nothing’s growing here yet – spring just means you can finally see some sun & blue sky instead of always grey-white overcast weather… 😋

Yeah, I remember that strange season.
If it would console you, Barcelona feels like back to winter this week. Back to its own winter that is, but still))
I see Norwegian bloggers already wearing leather jackets while I am still in coat here 😆
There will always be some weather jokes to talk about, in any place))

I love photo walks in Helsinki because you can find such interesting details in the old buildings if you have a sharp eye. They are the best in Spring sunshine as in your photos ❤ Here's my walk from 2010!! 😛 https://mrssuvi.com/2019/04/05/vienna-at-a-glance/

What great photos, you’ve captured such interesting shots and I love the colours of the buildings in the sunlight, such gorgeous tones!
Here is my offering this week, a look back at a walk I took on my recent trip (I am missing that sunshine!):

Thanks so much for your offering! 🤗 No sunshine today – but you had so many blooms and blossoms? Hope the sun comes back! 🌷

Yes, the sun came out for a while and has disappeared again! It has no idea what it’s doing at the moment 🙂

To enjoy one’s time in a place, you might spend it with other folks chatting or dining, but when your attention is on friends, you miss the glorious details in your surroundings. A quiet photo walk allows one to pick up so many interesting nuances and features, as your photos have done here. I love the eyelashes!! Aren’t they fabulous? I will join in again this week, but for now, here is my link – as I can’t resist adding my previous photo walk around Helsinki – https://forestwoodfolkart.wordpress.com/2016/09/18/hanging-around-in-helsinki-part-ii/

Thanks Amanda for your link! 🤗 And happy you spotted the eyelashes! One of those things you can’t unsee once seen – I can’t help but wonder if the architect really didn’t notice…??? 😊

It may even have been intentional! Inspired by eyelashed. Wouldn’t that be funny?

That’s so true!!! Often in the tram I see everyone with their noses buried in their phones, ignoring everything in the tram and outside it… and it’s like robot-mode.
Thanks for playing!

I love pictures of old architecture. The double iron gates are my favorite of these.

Thanks for popping by! Those gates are a rarity in the downtown area, most buildings are large apartment buildings like the ones in the other pictures.
