Writer’s block. Blogger’s shock. Mind lock.
What should I write about?
How amazed and happy I am about the warm and sunny July we’ve had over here in this arctic corner of the world?
How my daily coffee intake is reduced to 1 or 2 espressos, now that my vitamin D levels have been refilled by sunlight…
How my two little sweethearts have just learned to walk, gushing out in sheer elation as they toddle along.
How they enjoy swinging, but there’s only one playground nearby with swings in the shade. (And how that usually isn’t a problem.)
How most days I’ve only managed to spend 1-3 hours outdoors, despite the excellent weather, and how I’m actually quite content to just look at it through the window. Tired but happy, I’ve done the best I could. There will be more sunny days in the future. Somewhere, somehow.
My blog is having an identity crisis. A mid-life crisis, perhaps.
As for me, I feel rejuvenated.

Fun post and glad you have had sunny days – cos we had too many rainy ones – also – I know you know this – but blogs should have change phases – well the good ones do – it means they are alive and dynamic and full of life and so they will have seasons – ya know ?

Hey that’s a very good point! How boring it would be to stay still, static, repetitive… almost like a robot. Maybe change isn’t a bad thing at all. I need to wrap my head around this… rebrand the blog and then maybe I’ll find direction again! 🙂 Thanks so much for dropping by!

hmmmm
we shall see how it unfolds – maybe all that snow melting means you need to have some snow again (kidding)
but i do speak from experience with the ebb and flow in blog land –

Thanks Tanja! Will do (have done!) 🙂 You too! (Though for you, it’s less unusual!)

“Gushing out in sheer elation as they toddle alone”, it made me smile. Such a lovely line. With that gorgeous life, writer’s block, (whisper) who cares…..
A beautiful read! 😊🌸

Lets hope it will still follow 🙂 This is the first time in 3 years’ blogging that I’ve lost inspiration and feel like I have no sense of direction with the blog! But I’m still as committed to keeping it alive as ever. So I’m sure it’ll get back on track again, in its own time! 🙂

If you’re enjoying life, that’s what matters. I’m sure your writing and the blog will find their direction in due course. Enjoy your summer.

Thanks, Graham! So true. Plenty of time to blog next winter when it’s dark and grey again!

Sometimes it’s enough to say there isn’t enough (to write about). But you have enough of the important things.

Exactly my thoughts, snow! Though so much is happening around me, I feel that I am unable to write about it. Only photographs for the time being!

I don’t even have photos cause my camera broke and so did my iPad which I used to edit with! 😀 Hahah. Maybe it’s a sign…

Thanks Sid! Don’t know about relaxing, but it’s been a fun, sunny summer and I’ve enjoyed it 😀 Luckily I’m not having a midlife crisis, just my blog! 😂I’m quite fine as it is! Enjoy your summer, keep cool! 💕(Ferragosto soon?)

Let your blog fleed free in your spirit and your mind will regain the right rush 😉😋
Have a splendid sunny Sunday!

If you are rejuvenated, then let the blog suffer. Mine often suffers when my life is full of good things like beautiful weather. Soak it up, and this winter when you are stuck inside, you’ll have something to write about! I live in the land of endless summer, so I’m not as enthusiastic about July… By the way, you wrote a beautiful little post here in the midst of your writer’s block.

Hehee, thank you! 😀 I do believe you are right: winter is the perfect time to blog! The land of endless summer, eh? Where I live is like the land of endless winter. (Except right now, with the lovely sunny spring and summer we were treated to this year. The exception proves the rule!) Thanks for reading and commenting!

I made a comment with an intended humorous sense on this lovely post, but when I think back, I’m worried that the comment might be misunderstood. It was written with good intention, but do ignore it if it was considered inappropriate. In any case, have a wonderful weekend! 🌸🌿

The babies are walking – congratulations! Everything changes now; it will be hard to keep up and you will laugh daily! It seems that blogs evolve as we, the writers, do. Geography, subject matter, our very lives change (if we are lucky) so it makes sense that what we write about changes too. Mom advice: take pictures, even bad ones. Don’t worry about editing or composition. It’s those precious milestones & moments that matter most!

Thank you Linda for the advice and kind words. It’s amazing how much they learn and how quickly, too. Photos and videos, yes, plenty! 😊 Enjoy your Sunday!

Sounds like you’re having a great time! Don’t worry much about the blog – everything you write or post here I read with great interest, as I am sure many of your other readers do. I am sure you will find something to write about 🙂 I am having a similar situation with my blog too.. but hopefully I can post more regularly. It’s not the lack of content but the lack of inspiration in my case..

Yes, I seem to have lost my inspiration too. I have saved drafts, tons of them, but I’m not inspired by any of them… Thanks Pooja for the kind words! I’m sure we’ll all get back into blogging when the autumn rains start! 😉 Hope so, at least! Enjoy your summer!

Perhaps the blog needs to do a detox and go on a summer break 😀 Your post got me wondering… Do you think that you have less inspiration when things are great all around? As in your writing is fueled by the challenging moments in life rather than the positive ones.
LikeLiked by 1 person
I think that must be the case – for me at least! “Starving artist” and all, hahah, I guess I need challenging moments to have something to write about! 🙂 Maybe that’s why a book’s plot must always have a twist in it… first a problem, then a solution? It makes for boring writing if everything is just sunshine and roses… hmmm? 🙂

I also went through a blogger’s block last year (I made on average one post per month), I once posted pictures of brick walls, because, well, I hit a brick wall. Then I got unblocked and am now posting more than ever, so I guess it just went away on its own. I think it’s good to take a hiatus from any creative work anyhow. Best of luck!

Thanks for your thoughts, Linda! I guess it was bound to happen at some point, I used to post almost daily!! 😂 I hope it will unblock by itself, like you said!
