The sun shines and, suddenly, the park turns into a fantasyland…
The wind is cold, but if you manage to find a sheltered spot, you can start to feel the sun warm up your wintry pale skin and give you rare tingles of energy, like goosebumps, running up into your veins. The hepatica blossoms color last year’s grass in wave of blue, washing away the last remnants of snow, wiping it from our memories. For a few months.

”Ay, no hay que llorar, la vida es un carnaval…” 🎶 Which reminds me, the Helsinki Samba carneval is soon, hope it won’t be rainy 😊

Looove that song! Oslo carnival is soon too! But first – 17. Mai 🇳🇴🇳🇴😊

I love that song too 🙂 (Surprise!) Ooh, Oslo carnival, hope it’s a sunny day there then too!

Lovely! What a fabulous old house behind the trees, and I love the dancer on the wall…..

Thanks! Yes, it didn’t look lived in or looked after, though. It’s in a million-dollar-spot downtown so it’s a shame…

Thanks Sid! Some villas were freshly painted and pretty. This one was looking a bit shabby but still magnificent! 😊

Thanks MM! Better than never, yes. Still cold and windy but I saw people in bikinis (at best something like 15C today)

Hihi. how do you see people in bikini at 15C in Helsinki? In parks? Jogging? In a lake? 😀

In parks 😊 Also one girl was doing squats in her string bikini on the balcony of her very centrally located flat

Bahhhah. I’m home alone, watching Eurovision, drinking wine, and this is the most hilarious thing I’ve heard all month. 😀

Finally beginning to look warm and spring-y up there! 🙂 We’ve been enjoying 20+ temperatures consistently since the past few weeks, it has been amazing here this year. Today the highest is expected to be 27 degrees hehe. Enjoy your day and soak up all that sunshine, Snow! 🙂

Oh wow, what lovely temperatures you have already!! Here, it’s been around 10C most of the time (at best perhaps 15C momentarily) but already we’ve gotten more sunshine in this past week than we probably had all last summer! So these are good signs! 😀
Soaking it up, yes! Thanks, Pooja! Enjoy your sunshine!

Wonderful photos! Are the arches an invitation for kiddies young and old to romp and tumble?

The arches look to me like someone magically conjured them, but it appears they were for a color run (I think)… and I did see both kids and adults play in them! 🙂

Happy spring and summer! Hope they are here to stay for a while! Seems like the northern climes in many parts of the world have had a long winter this year.

Every winter seems long! 😂🤣I’m so happy I can finally say winter is over! Yay! Thanks, Lexi, for stopping by again! Enjoy your weekend!

Glad to see you’re getting some sunshine. If it’s any consolation, that’s better than where I live in Hawaii. It’s been grey and rainy for ages now. I like the ballerina photo particularly, very evocative.

Thanks Graham! A bit of sunshine does change the mood! I can’t imagine weeks of rain in Hawaii…

As always, I’m amazed you managed to take pictures free from human silhouettes! The millions of flowers make up for it easily! And this house on the hill would suit me very well… Happy sunshine to you!

Thanks Veronique, happy sunshine to you too! 😄☀️ There actually aren’t that many people here you know, no crowds except during sales!! Also, the babes wake up at 5:30 so we were already at the park when most people were still at home sleeping! 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks, Amy! There’s not a lot of wall paintings over here so the ballerina stood out! 🙂
