This isn’t typical of me at all, but this time I’m going to actually post recent photos from my life! Like a real blogger! I hope this doesn’t become a habit…
Christmas lights downtown on one of the main streets, Mannerheimintie
This church is always the symbol of Helsinki everywhere
Tram and rain – same street as in the gallery’s first picture
Rain
Lovely sunset… at 2:50 pm
Welcome to Helsinki! Hope you enjoyed this very short tour. More another time, maybe!
Thanks! I don’t like posting strangers’ pictures without permission, so the pavement will have to do! 😀 (I had similar pictures with people in them but decided to go with that one!)
Doesn’t snow much here at sea level in the Pacific Northwest. But in 12 days I’m moving to the east side of the state where it just snowed 7 inches. Definite seasons!
Oh, exciting! Good luck for your new home! I’ve never been to that part of the world, but just googled it 😀 Are you moving to a mountainous area? I wish you an excellent Christmas! ❤
Thank you, Snow! Spokane, Washington – 1,843 feet above sea level…some hills, beautiful tall lodgepole and Ponderosa pines, maples, willows…a new terrain to blog from. Glorious Christmas to you too! XO
Hihi, a proper blogger with a proper sunset and all. 😀 I love the statue in the first photo the most. ❤ I've just returned from Ljubljana at night and it's so exaggerated as if to say: we've got money to throw away. They plopped lights on every tree. Helsinki seems more subdued even though it would need more light for all its dark hours. Night vs. day ratio will improve soon…
Hahah, exactly! Only the selfie was missing, really 🙂 (Duck-faced, preferably!) I’m glad you noticed that statue, I liked it too, it somehow popped out. I think it was hubby who first noticed it when we were walking by. I need to visit Ljubljana one day! But I think it will be summer. Did you say it had become touristy while you were gone?
Uber-touristy. But there are many parts the masses don’t find. Always welcome! I’ve just realised that I only see Ljubljana in extremes now: in the heat and in the freezing cold. I recommend April.
Thanks, Marion! I do have an artistic shot from the new metro line which I took just for you, but didn’t have time to edit it. Will be included in a later gallery someday 🙂 Hope you have a wonderful Christmas, too! In England?
Thank you, I’ll look forward to enjoying your metro line photo in due course. Yes, I’m at home in northern England for Christmas. Younger son lives at home but older son is arriving next Wednesday until 2nd January to join us. Although I love to travel there is nothing better than spending Christmas at home enjoying the festivities with family.
Hahah, thanks Alexandra! Maybe next winter I’ll be more organized and go out with my proper camera to get some everyday scenes captured. For now, it’s just phone snaps!
I like the rain picture, simple yet pleasant to see. The rest is nice too! 🙂 Thanks for sharing, I have never been to your country yet. Feast it with my eyes for now..hoping one day I will visit there. Merry Christmas and happy holidays from a far away always summer land!
Thank you! Happy I could show you some pictures 😀 Have a great Christmas over there – it’s still raining here but maybe we’ll get a white Xmas, who knows!

So a little dusting of snow? More white stuff to come, no doubt! Love the rainy reflection shot.

Thanks, sweetie! Snow keeps coming and going, as does the rain. What about your corner of the world?

Thanks! I liked that one too. Walking past the statue of the little boy, I noticed a new angle to this park that I’ve been to a million times 🙂
