Barceloneta Beach, 2011
There is a man in one of the windows, looking out. He is holding a baby as if he wants to show the baby the whole wide world. They are looking out to the street, then further to the beach, and finally all the way to the sea.
A plane flies over them. The passengers look down at the Spanish coastline and its lights, excited to be landing soon. A little girl in Barcelona looks up, wondering where the plane is headed and who is on it. She waves at it, imagining someone waving back.

I had a midterm this morning… first bad mark of the semester. I was feeling pretty down until I read this; now I feel calm. Thanks.

I used to imagine the thoughts of people like this as I rode my bus to school each morning, so I enjoyed your musings!
