Is Santorini as beautiful as one would expect?

It was just like it looks in the photos you see online. I only spent one day (and missed the sunset which many bloggers praise) so I’m no expert… But the blue color of the sea was spectacular, like nowhere else

Yes, I remember the Mediterranean in Corsica. So blue. But then for a tropical like myself, soooo cold.

Hahah 😊 Depends on where you are and when. During my summer in Crete, it was 40 C at night the whole summer – loved it! The air doesn’t get as humid as in the tropics, though!

Crete is another interesting destination. So much to see… 🙂

Santorini has always escaped me… I love it how you pinpoint what travel is. I guess the trick is to live like this at home as well.

If you can live like this at home, that would be great 🙂

Well said! And as MMM said above, wish we could have this adventuresome attitude day in and day out, but then again, that’s the enticement of travel, the motivation behind the wanderlust.

Exactly! If you know your home town inside out, it isn’t quite the same to explore it… no surprises, culture shocks or novelty… Though I agree that you should try to enjoy life at home, too, of course! 🙂

You seem to have travelled a lot.Although i know every place is special to a traveller and has a unique story.Still i would ask, which is the best or most memorable to you?

I have travelled quite a lot, I used to work in tourism so I traveled both for work and leisure 🙂 I live in a cold part of the world so whenever I get to travel somewhere sunny, with lush greenery and blossoming flowers, or gorgeous beaches, those are my favorites! Maui (Hawaii) during low season was one of my favorites and I also love the Mediterranean! Greece, Italy, Southern France, Spain: they just have the best climate and food! 🙂 Another memorable place was Tokyo for sure, it’s surreal… 😉

Aah, rakastan Santorinia! ❤

Those are some of the things I treasure as well about traveling! I was fortunate to visit several Greek islands but never made it to Santorini. It looks absolutely gorgeous though. Some day …

I need to visit more of those islands, too! Only went to Crete and Santorini 😊

Maybe I’ll dig out my ancient paper prints and do a retro post sometime! It seems like so long ago that I was there. I especially loved Corfu, Andros, Tinos and Lefkas. Those were the days … 😉

Old photos are the best – so much more atmospheric! I’d love to read your retro post!

You capture that feeling so well! The impulse to keep exploring – not knowing what you will find around those corners, but sure it will be beautiful…and most importantly, different.

Different, yes, that’s important! Thanks so much – and have a happy start to May!! ☺️
