Voilà: a collection of pictures from my recent trip to Switzerland and to a mountain village called Gruyères. Where I found stones in different forms… and chickens.
There was a spring mood still, not yet summer.
The empty streets looked like they were just made for photos.
Actually, the village dates back to the Middle Ages, so I can only imagine how many feet might’ve treaded these stone pavements.
More photo posts coming soon…

Made for pictures indeed! Those flowers! And there’s a lovely Thursday door as well. 🙂

Nice 🙂 When I visit places like that I also find myself thinking about all the people who where there before, centuries ago!

Exactly! In those moments, I suddenly get very interested in history, which isn’t a strong point of mine. I just like to try to imagine some everyday moments from times years ago…

It was such a breath of fresh air, changing the scenery from city to mountains. You can at least visit through photos, if nothing else 🙂

What a lovely old village, cobbled streets and all. Isn’t The name of the village also the name of a Swiss cheese – or am I mistaking the name for something else?

Thanks, Millie! You’re correct: there’s a local cheese with the same name (Gruyère), and it was everywhere! For me, a bit too strong though.

I’ll have to try it sometime, although the only strong cheese I usually like is good old Cheddar. 🙂

Gruyère cheese was too strong for you?!? No way! I find it so mild in comparison to others, it’s so funny that you find it strong!
But, again, I’m such a fan and sucker for cheeses that I may not be the reference you want to go with 😉

Hahah!!! 🙂 I think I ate too much brie the first time I lived in France – since then, I’ve been unable to eat strong cheeses! I love feta, mozzarella and other soft cheeses if they’re mild… I think it’s a fatty, slightly sweet flavor that I enjoy the most! 😉 Yum, now I’m hungry!!!

So am I! And craving for cheese, mild or strong, as there are so few and with no flavors at all (compared to the ones I’m used to) here in Mexico!

I could come and support you in person, too, if I had some time off, maybe we could go to the beach 😉 hehee…

I’d love that! Remember, we’ll be on a beautiful beach from early Feb to early June (for me, Raúl might stay longer) manning the bar we’re opening at our friend’s restaurant. Holbox island is soooooo beautiful, you’ll rest just fine! 😉

Ooooh….. sounds like paradise!!!!! Good luck with the bar by the way!

Thanks for the comment 🙂 I think the grey weather brought out the color in the flowers somehow, they really stood out
